Integrated Training on Spice Production and Value Addition

ICAR – Indian Institute of Spices Research, in collaboration with Bharatiya Kisan Sangh and NABARD, organised a one-day training programme on Production and Value Addition in Spices on 28th January.

The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Dini Suresh Panicker, Deputy General Manager, NABARD, Regional Office, Kerala .

The training included technical sessions covering an overview of the spices sector, good agricultural practices in spice cultivation, initiation of spice-based enterprises, value-added products from spices, spice extracts and their commercial potential, and commercial technologies developed by ICAR – IISR.

The inaugural session was addressed by Dr. A. Ishwara Bhat, Head, Division of Crop Protection, ICAR–IISR; Shri Rakesh V., District Development Manager, NABARD; Adv. Radheesh Gopalan, State General Secretary, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh; and Dr. Lijo Thomas, Principal Scientist, ICAR–IISR.
