To promote the official language, Hindi, the ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research, Kozhikode, celebrated Hindi Week from 16 September to 22 September, 2025. The inaugural function was held on 16 September, 2025. Dr. K. Anees, Principal Scientist and Hindi Officer, welcomed everyone to the function. In his welcome address, he presented details of the various competitions to be conducted during the Hindi Week. Dr. R. Dinesh, Director of the Institute, inaugurated the ceremony. In his inaugural address, he highlighted the importance of the Hindi language. Following the inauguration, Hindi Word Making competition was held, which was attended by all the officers and staff presented there. After the competition, Dr. K. Anees delivered a lecture and slide presentation in Hindi on the topic of Waste management. The function concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. N. Prasannakumari.
During Hindi Week programme, from 17September to 22 September, 2025, competitions like Hindi Versification, Hindi Noting and Drafting, Hindi Extempore Speech, Hindi Song, Hindi Video Making, Hindi Commentary and Hindi Dump Cherades were organized. Officers and employees actively participated in all these competitions. Total of 142 staff member has participated in various programmes.
The valedictory function of Hindi Week was held on 22 September, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. Dr. K. Anees, Principal Scientist and Hindi Officer, welcomed everyone. He then presented a report of the programmes organized during Hindi Week. At the function, Dr. R. Dinesh, Director of the Institute, distributed prizes to all the winners of various competitions. In addition, officers and employees who used more than 10,000 words in Hindi during the year 2024-25 received Noting and Drafting Award. Rajbhasha Protsahan Puraskar for the year 2024-25 also distributed during the programme. The best two videos from the video editing competition were presented at the function.
