About ITM-ABI

Spicing up the nation’s progress by nurturing technologies into sustainable business opportunities

The Institute Technology Management–Agri Business Incubator (ITM-ABI) of IISR is established under the scheme of the National Agricultural Innovation Fund (NAIF) of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) with the vision of promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the spices sector. It promotes entrepreneurship in agribusiness through technology development and commercialization. ITM-ABI facilitates startups by providing access to agro-technologies, infrastructure, capacity building, handholding support, and assistance in developing successful business ventures and market linkages.

ITM-ABI serves as a catalyst for entrepreneurship development by strengthening integrated processing capabilities and providing expert technical guidance on quality maintenance, testing standards, and regulatory compliance. The incubator creates a conducive ecosystem that supports startups, enterprises, and stakeholders across the spices value chain.

The ITM-ABI also envisages fostering sustainable business growth by offering access to advanced processing facilities for market testing, technology and prototype development, and research support. Equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure for both primary and secondary processing of spices and allied products, the incubator additionally promotes entrepreneurship in the production of high-quality seed and planting material.
